Rising Wimbledon star, semi finalist Zheng Jie has pledged to donate any prize money she earns from the tennis Championships to aid victims of the China earthquakes.
Jie, a wildcard in the draw, is the first Chinese player to make it into a Grand Slam semi final, and she wants to make the most of it, telling a news conference that she plans to part with every cent of her earnings.
‘When I go back there after Wimbledon I will do more charity work and encourage more people to come and support the stricken region,’ Zheng Jie commented.
