Mt Kilimanjaro Trek for Huntington's Disease
By Admin
Published: July 4, 2009
Diana Bronkhorstwill be attempting to climb Mt Kilimanjaro on 16th October in aid of the Huntingtons Disease Association and to raise general awareness of this rare inherited disease.
Diana explained: My mother is a sufferer of this degenerating neurological disease and I have a 50% chance of inheriting the faulty gene. It can be quite devastating for families to discover that this disease exists in their family history. There is currently no cure and research is limited as it receives orphan status (less than 100,000 sufferers).
