John McEnroe has donated the portrait Andy Warhol made of him and his ex-wife Tatum O’Neal to a Sotheby’s charity auction.

The work itself arose from a charity auction McEnroe won in 1986, to have Warhol produce the portrait.

Sotheby’s has priced the piece at about £350 000, to go to Habitat for Humanity.

The John McEnroe Andy Warhol picture will be sold on July 1 as part of the Contemporary Art auction to be held during the second week of Wimbledon.
