World famous faces Patrick Stewart, Joanna Lumley, Jimmy Carr, Tara Fitzgerald, Jo Brand and Brian Cox voiced animations for the event with Ross Kemp and Germaine Greer doing the serious business of talking about torture.

Dolly Parton, Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, Scarlett Johannson and a host of other gorgeous girls have donated their handbags to the Handbag Amnesty auction, for Cancer Research UK.

Throughout September women dropped their handbags in to their local Cancer Research UK centres and they are now available to buy by auction, to raise funds for Cancer Research.

Just by bidding in the auction, potential bag buyers could win themselves some great arm candy.

Harry Potter, Fight Club and Sweeney Todd actress, Helena Bonham Carter, is the new patron of a UK muscular dystrophy charity, Action Duchenne.

The English actress joins other VIP supporters including Tim Henman OBE, Mike Brearley OBE, Maureen Lipman CBE, Lloyd Honeyghan, Lord David Puttnam and Bryan Robson OBE.

‘As a patron of Action Duchenne, I would like to urge as many people as possible to find out about the work of the charity and the devastating effects of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Treatments and a cure seem tantalisingly close but they will not appear without further support and funding.
